Pixie Lott's surprise performance at school

14 March 2014  Pop sensation Pixie Lott gave a surprise performance in her home town for pupils from a local school.
The 23-year-old singer got up on stage at Ravens Wood School, Bromley, Kent, in front of 600 adoring kids to for CRY, an organisation dedicated to reducing heart-related deaths in young people.
The charity is close to the star’s heart after a friend of her sister died from a heart problem aged just 17.
Pixie, who is a patron of the charity, said: "I became a patron of CRY as it affects so many young people and it’s crazy a seemingly fit and young person can just drop down dead."
The school was picked for the special concert after a former pupil at the school, Ben Daniels, died suddenly aged just 15 on 2011 while playing football.
His dad, Paul Daniels has been campaigning for CRY ever since.
He said: "It's Pixie’s passion and enthusiasm for CRY that continues to bring people together in our common cause of saving young people's lives and remembering those, like Ben, that have died."
Pixie went on to visit and answer questions at another school Thomas Moore Secondary School in Eltham where the friend of her sister who tragically died was a student.
CRY reports around 12 young people with no sign of health problems die from undetected heart defects every week.
The charity carries out regular screenings to prevent these tragedies.
The charity’s founder and CEO, Alison Cox MBE, said: "Everyone was absolutely delighted Pixie was able to visit these two schools, which both have such a special link to CRY."
